So, what sets our plants apart?
Our plants are meticulously cared for from the first emergence of a root (sometimes even before…) to the moment they leave our hands.
We take painstaking care to minimize the risk of pests and disease throughout every stage of their growth.
Before leaving our facility, plants are acclimated to an indoor temperature of approximately 65°F (18°C), and most are acclimated to a relative humidity of 50% or less.
We do this to reduce the stress the plants experience during shipping and travel.
We select only healthy plants with strong variegation and the best possible chance of successfully transitioning to their new environment.
Plants arrive in an orchid-style nursery pot paired with a 3D-printed cache pot, giving you the flexibility to choose the growing method that works best for you - whether that's semi-hydroponic or traditional potting mix.
(We also got tired of accumulating nursery pots that were never quiiiiite the same shape or size, so we decided to solve that particularly niche irritation ourselves.)

These plants are corm grown or direct offshoots of the mother plant. They produce consistent high color variegation - mostly the standard lemon-lime hue. However, we’ve started to see some leaning towards a peachy hue (stay tuned to see if the mother plant develops more of that variegation).

The specific mother plant produces the highest vibrancy of any Alternanthera Party Time we’ve come across. Offspring from this mother plant follow the same growth pattern and have shown consistently high color, high variegation. This plant can be a drama queen if it’s time to water, so don’t fret over some leaf drop. She’ll bounce back! Transportation for this plant will likely be stressful, so please keep that in mind when choosing shipping.
Alternanthera’s purchased for shipping will be watered 2 days prior to shipping. Once they are received by the customer, please ensure you check the moisture level of the potting mix and address appropriately for best results. Contact us if you have any doubt or question about whether you should water your new plant when you receive it.
All tradescantias purchased for shipping will ship in a 3” nursery pot.
